How to use - Bicycle magnetic headlight
Adjust the center of the coil so that the magnet passes exactly in front.
Adjust the coil as close as possible of the magnet but without touching each other (approx. 0.5 mm). To adjust the coil, screw/unscrew the nuts (a).
When set, tighten all parts firmly.
If the LED does not light up, check the electrical connexions. As the led works only one way, try to turn the wheel backwards. If the LED lights up, invert its connexions.
Each time the magnet passes in front of the coil, the electrons in the copper wire coil are "stimulated" and produce an electric current.
If the movement is insufficient or if the bike is stopped, the LED stops emitting light as it receives no more or not enough electricity.
By adding a second reflector equipped with a magnet on the wheel, it is possible to increase the flashing rate and produce a nearly continuous light.
Here is a video showing the final result.
The camera could not capture all the led flashes. In real, the flashing is much mor regular.
