How to use - Steam engine
Fill the base of the box (if possible with distilled water) until about 1/3 of its height. Srew the cover (with a hole) on the box.
To be able to easily open the box after use, it is recommended to slightly oil the screw thread. Place the turbine in-between the two wires ("bridges"). The turbine should settle just above the centre of the gas adapter.
Install the tin box in the centre of the gas adapter.
Put some firelighter (meta) in the tea light candle container and light it.
Slide the teal light candle container under the box.
After a few minutes, the turbine spins powered by the pressure of the steam that escapes from the lid hole.
Adjust the steam jet by moving (with pliers) the box.
The amount of water and meta is very important. If all the water evaporates before the end of the firelighter, the gasket in the lid might melt and produce a nasty burnt rubber smell. So, put out the fire as soon as no more steam is produced. Always put the tea light candle container at last. If no box is placed above the flames, the turbine migt burn !! When the experiment is over, allow the box to cool down about 10 minutes before handling it again. A video of the steam engine in action :
