How to use ? - Shibori dyeing

  • Step 1

Create a small peak by passing a chopstick under the fabric.

About 1 cm from the top, tightly tie a rubber band around it.

    Then remove the chopstick.

  • Step 2

Repeat this several times to create a lot of 'points'.

The more you do it, the more spectacular the result will be!

  • Step 3

Tremper le tissu dans un liquide composé de 50% d’eau froide et 50% de vinaigre blanc.

{#lang_bricoWikiWarnings_warning} vinegar is used to 'fix' the colour

  • Step 4

Pour half a litre of water into a saucepan and add two tablespoons of spices.

Bring the mixture to a boil.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool a bit.

  • Step 5

Wring out the cloth and dip it into the pot.

Bring to a boil then simmer for 30 minutes.

Remove the pot from the heat and let the cloth sit in it overnight.

  • Step 6

Bring the fabric out of the pot and remove the rubber bands.

Rinse and squeeze out the fabric before hanging it to dry.
