An animal with growing hair

This project is a funny way to observe the germination of seeds. It shows that seeds initially only need water and light to grow.

 

This project was developped for the magazine 'Campus Junior' of the University of Geneva.

Put the Chia seeds in a glass of water for at least 3 hours so that they swell.Attach a peg to each corner of the sponge.Surround the top of the pegs with an elastic band to straighten them up.Attach the last peg to form the neck of the animal.   Draw a head on a cardboard, cut it out and stick it on the peg. With a knife and fingers spread the seeds that have become sticky on the top and edges of the sponge.
