Fonctionnement - Salt crystals

You must be patient and avoid touching the salt crystals as they are very fragile!

After a few days, you can add ink to the glass and see if the colour rises up in the crystals.

Perfume sticks are particularly good at making salt water rise. Alternatively, you can try ice sticks or skewers.

We got quite different results in each trial. The salt crystals sometimes rose less high than others.

It is possible that the quality of the sticks influenced the rise of the salt.

We bent a stick to form an arch in the glass which gave good results.

Some people advise using salt without iodine. But we did not check if this really makes a difference.
