How to use ? - Compressed air rocket

  • Launch base

  • Step 1

    With awl, drill a hole of the diameter of the straw in the center of the PET bottle cap.

     

    Cut a 10cm section from a straw on the side of the folding part.

     

    Push the straw through the outer hole of the cap, leaving the folding part about 2 cm above the cap.

     

    Plug the hole on both sides with blu tack.



  • Step 2

    Inside view.



  • Step 3

    Screw the cap back onto the bottle.

     

    The launch base is completed.



  • The rocket

  • Step 4

    With a pair of scissors, cut two 6 cm sections from a straw.



  • Step 5

    Split the two straw sections lengthwise.



  • Step 6

    Slide a split section onto a pencil.



  • Step 7

    Slide a second split section on the other side of the pencil, making sure that it slightly overlaps the two edges of the first section.



  • Step 8

    Tape the two sections lengthwise together to form a sealed tube.



  • Step 9

     

     

    Remove the tube from the pencil (fuselage of the rocket) and cover one of its openings with blu tack to seal it well.



  • Step 10

    Build different models of rockets, for example, by adding fins formed from aluminum foil, scotch or bristol cardboard.
